R&B princess Rihanna has a good voice and a good heart too! She appeared yesterday on the popular U.S. talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show where she performed Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" in order to raise money for Haiti that was struck by an earthquake on Tuesday, January 12, and again on Wednesday.
"This song for me, growing up, anytime there was a difficult situation, I always listened to this song because it was so liberating. Even now I listen to it when my back is up against the wall. I feel like the people of Haiti need to hear something inspiring," Rihanna told Oprah Winfrey.
The track is available for download on iTunes and all profts will go to the victims in Haiti.
The "Umbrella" star is also slated to perform at this upcoming Friday's Hope for Haiti charity Telethon hosted by George Clooney in Los Angeles, Wyclef Jean in New York City and CNN reporter Anderson Cooper in Haiti.
Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys are set to perform in Los Angeles, while Rihanna and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z will take to the stage in London during this global fundraiser event for a nation that was hit by an earthquake yet again Wednesday in a very powerful aftershock.
